Pixel Brothers team members Mike Torchia, Nick Kofski and Scott Murphy had the opportunity to spend 5 days with Engine 7 and the Rescue Squad of the New Orleans Fire Department. They were there shooting a pilot for a possible reality TV show. Kofski and Murphy arrived on Wednesday evening and were no sooner on their first “roll” — smoke in a nursing home. Kofski and Murphy went on more than 25 calls with both the Rescue Squad and the Engine, including a 3 bell structure fire. Torchia, who arrived later in the shooting cycle said “This experience gives me a whole new appreciation for the work these guys do.”

The fire fighters gave the crew unprecedented access to all aspects of their jobs - something they’ve never done before. The shoot included 3 broadcast cameras and 2 rugged “helmet cams” that were attached directly to the helmets of the firefighters.

Pixel Brothers excels in producing this kind of reality TV pilot - or sizzle reel. With our years of reality experience with the Jerry Springer and Steve Wilkos shows we know exactly what kinds of equipment to use and the crtical shots needed to sell this type of programming.

LOS ANGELES, June 15, 2009 | SHOOT Publicity Wire | — Former Jerry Springer producer Richard Dominick is one of several Chicago-Hollywood producers teaming with Pixel Brothers (PBI) to develop and produce original content in Chicago and Los Angeles.

PBI is presently working on a slate of 25 new TV shows and movie concepts, ranging in budgets up to $20 million, reported John Patterson, Pixel’s Business and Content Development director.

Recently Bob Sliga lead a breakfast talk about Color Correction and the edge it gives to a professional television, film or commercial project. He introduced us to the basics of color correction and demonstrated the impact and power of this art form.

With 30 years of color correction experience from short form spots to long form documentaries and feature films, Bob is considered worldwide as a leading specialist in Color. The last 5 years he has been working for Apple developing FinalTouch (predecessor to Apple’s Color) and then Color, after Apple released the product in April 2007.
